Good afternoon and welcome back to the channel! After a long night of work, I’m finally up and ready to enjoy some much-needed family time. I actually worked until 6:00 a.m. today, so Jessa and I slept in a bit—I got up at 10:00, while Jessa, as usual, slept a bit longer. Liam was a bit of a night owl himself, staying up until about 3:00 a.m., so we’re all moving a little slower today.
To start the day off right, I had a little surprise for Liam. About a week ago, he was absolutely heartbroken when we had to take a toy away from him in the store. Since I made some extra money working through the night, I thought I’d treat him. Seeing his face light up when I gave it to him was the best start to our "family day."
Our main plan for the day was to head out of Moalboal and explore a place Jessa heard about. However, after a quick Google search at the gas station (where we filled up on the "cheap" fuel—every peso counts!), we realized it was much further away than we thought. More importantly, it involved a 45-minute hike. With my current knee and back issues, carrying Liam on that kind of road for nearly an hour just wasn’t happening.
Instead, we decided to head back to a place we haven't visited since before the pandemic: Inambakan Falls in Ginatilan. On the way, we stopped at 7-Eleven for some snacks, water, and an ice cream for Liam. We also picked up some of our favorite snacks—mostly chicken, as many of you probably know by now!
I’ve said it before, but Inambakan is one of my favorite spots. People often get upset when I say I prefer it over Kawasan Falls, but for me, it’s all about the peace and quiet. Kawasan is beautiful, but it's often packed with tourists and long lines. Inambakan is just pure nature. The walk down to the falls was a bit tough on my knees, but seeing that beautiful blue water again was worth it.
Liam was absolutely fascinated. It was his first time ever visiting a waterfall, and he didn't know whether to be excited or a bit overwhelmed. We had a great time swimming in the cool water—I even joked that I’d just get in "naked" since there was nobody else there! We arrived near closing time, so we practically had the whole place to ourselves. It felt incredibly special to be there alone as a family.
After our swim, we found a nice spot to sit and eat our chicken and rice. There’s something about eating a simple meal in the middle of nature that just makes it taste better. Liam was so worn out from the swimming and the fresh air that he actually started falling asleep while still holding a piece of chicken! He refused to let go of it even as he drifted off into dreamland.
While we relaxed, Jessa and I talked about our "new life" here—balancing work and family time. I still have to head home and handle the taxes tonight (the boring part of being a creator, but necessary!), and Jessa volunteered to help me with some car maintenance tomorrow. We’ve been promising ourselves we’d clean the car for a week now, so hopefully, the weather holds up.
We ended the day with a walk through Panagsama to tire Liam out even more, hoping for a better night's sleep for everyone.
Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one!
