Good afternoon and welcome back to the channel! I’m finally feeling a bit more like myself today. It’s Sunday, and after being stuck in the house for eight days straight with whatever bug I’ve been fighting, getting some fresh air was priority number one. Jessa and I decided to head down to Panagsama Beach just to walk around and soak in some sun. I even brought my "quack-quack feet"—my snorkeling fins—just in case I felt strong enough for a dip, but honestly, just being outside was a victory.
While we were walking down the street at Panagsama, something pretty cool happened. As usual, people were coming up to say hi and take photos, and one of those people was actually the owner of a local restaurant. She told us she was a fan of Jessa’s and invited the three of us to come back at seven o'clock tonight for a free dinner at her place. We already had plans to eat elsewhere, but we thought it would be a great chance to meet new people and check out a spot we’d never visited.
Before dinner, we had to run a few errands. Liam has been biting through the nipples on his bottles like crazy lately, so we had to hit the mall to find some replacements. I also needed to stock up on more medicine to make sure I don't relapse. While we were out, I bought Liam a new toy—it’s one of those moving, interactive ones—and it was hilarious watching his reaction. At first, he was super skeptical and even a bit scared of it, but after a few minutes, he was chasing it all over the living room. Total success!
As we were heading toward our dinner appointment, we came across another sobering sight: a serious motorbike accident. There was a lot of blood on the ground, and the bike was pretty much destroyed. Thankfully, the guy was alive, but it was a heavy reminder of how dangerous these roads can be. I say it all the time, but please, drive carefully. It is always better to get home safely than to get home fast.
Finally, seven o'clock rolled around, and we showed up at the restaurant as agreed. We waited... and waited. By 7:30, the owner still hadn't shown up, and the staff seemed to have no idea who we were or that we were invited. We decided to just order anyway—some Cordon Bleu, fries for Liam (which he devoured), and a Coke for me. By 8:30, we gave up on the owner showing up and just paid the bill—about 1,000 pesos including the tip.
The kicker? Just as we were leaving, the owner finally walked in. She looked at me, gave a tiny nod and a smile, and then just walked past and never came back to talk to us. I’ll be honest: I was pretty annoyed. It’s not about the money—we would have spent that much at the other restaurant anyway—it’s the principle. If you invite someone to your place for a "free dinner," you don’t stand them up and leave them with the bill. It felt like a bit of a "trick" to get us to eat there for a video, and I don't appreciate being treated like that. Between the lack of communication and the owner’s behavior, I definitely won't be recommending that spot.
Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one!
