Our New Mountain Home in Ronda is Already My Favorite Place in the Philippines ⛰

After a long journey of construction, our new house up on our own mountaintop in Ronda, Cebu—just a 25-minute drive from Moalboal—is almost there. It is not completely finished yet, with about a week or two left of work to go, but I can already feel the vibe of the place.

We designed the house with a rooftop terrace, and even before it's finished, it has already become my absolute favorite spot. Spending slow evenings up there with my wife and my boy, enjoying good food, and occasionally hosting friends to share a meal and a bottle of wine feels like the ultimate paradise.

When you build your own sanctuary, you stop feeling the constant urge to travel or chase after busy resorts. I don’t need to go looking for paradise anymore—I am building my own.

That being said, I will still use this section to share some of the great bars, cafes, and evening spots around Cebu that I keep returning to. But at the end of the day, my best place is going to be right here at home.
