Hey there, it’s Aksel! Welcome back to the VibePinas channel. Today, I’m giving you a real, unfiltered look at what’s happening on our land and with the construction of our dream home here in the mountains of the Philippines.
First off, let’s talk about the house. I know it looks a bit "unique" right now, but you have to remember that what you’re seeing is mostly temporary. We’re living in what will eventually be the laundry room and balcony areas. I’ve set up my little office space with curtains, my "On Air" sign for live streams, and even a ring light to make sure I don't look like a ghost on camera! Liam is right there with me, playing with his animals and enjoying life. It might be simple, but it’s our home.
I did have a bit of a setback recently—I got scammed on Shopee! I bought a chainsaw to help clear the land, but it was a total bust, and the store has already been banned. I lost about 4,000 pesos, which stings, but I haven't 100% given up on fixing the machine myself yet. In the meantime, Jessa took charge and hired some local guys to help us out.
We actually bought "Typhoon Land"—there are fallen trees everywhere from past storms. Since my chainsaw wasn't cooperating, the team is busy today chopping up all those fallen trunks. We’re going to turn them into firewood and stack it all neatly behind the house. It’s a big job, but seeing the land slowly get cleared of all those massive logs is a huge relief.
I’ve heard some of the comments about the "bad work" on the house. Jessa mentioned it in one of her videos, but I want to clarify: she was talking about minor things, like the temporary walls. I made a bit of a "rookie mistake" with some metal placement that makes one of the doors a bit annoying to use, and the floor finishing on the balcony isn't perfect. But honestly? I don't care! It’s all temporary. We just need it to survive until the main house is finished. Between the main house, the balconies, and the storage, we’re looking at nearly 200 square meters of living space when it’s all done.
The land is also looking much cleaner. I’ve been out picking up all the tiny pieces of plastic and garbage that were scattered around. We’ve probably got a few more bags to go, but little by little, it’s getting to where it needs to be.
Living here is just amazing. It’s quiet, it’s relaxing, and every morning I wake up to what I call my "million-dollar view." Some people might prefer a luxury mansion in the city, but for us, this mountain paradise is exactly where we want to be.
