Mike was a respectful, kind person and a devoted father who had sole custody of his daughter. It’s devastating to see people twist the facts. Jessa and I aren't doing this for money or views; we’re doing it to ensure there’s a record of the truth alongside the wild speculations. Part 3: Mike's Girlfriend
I’m back with a final update on VibePinas regarding the tragic loss of our friend Mike. Today, Jessa and I are with Mike’s girlfriend, Tisay, to set the record straight and clear up any remaining misinformation.
Contrary to rumors, the suspect is in jail awaiting trial and is not free to go. We’ve also confirmed that Mike’s daughter, Skylar, is being cared for by family and friends, and Mike has been cremated, with his remains returning to the U.S. We aren't doing this for views or money; in fact, we're spending our own to support Tisay and Mike's family during this nightmare. We're stepping back from this case now to focus on justice. See you in the next one.
Part 4: Trial Update
In this update on VibePinas, I’m sharing some frustrating news about Mike’s case. The trial has been postponed because the defendant's lawyer is on vacation—a real "only in the Philippines" moment that’s hard to wrap my head around.
I also want to address the comments about money and Mike’s family. Jessa and I have spent over 100,000 PHP of our own money to help Mike's girlfriend, Tisay, get settled with an apartment and a job. Regarding Mike's parents, I chose to stop offering help after they sent hurtful messages to Tisay, essentially telling her she wasn't needed. I won't condone that toxicity. Our focus remains on getting justice for Mike. Thanks for standing with us.
Part 5: The sentence
I have a final update on VibePinas regarding our friend Mike. After a long wait and a lot of silence from the local news, justice has finally been served—the Filipino rapper responsible for Mike’s death has been sentenced to life in prison.
I found out through the memorial page Mike’s sister created, and while it’s a relief to know he’s behind bars, it’s a sobering reminder of how things work here. Jessa and I did what we could to help Mike’s girlfriend get back on her feet, and now we’re focusing on our own quiet life and the rescue puppies we’ve taken in. Rest in peace, Mike.
