That's It! My Day Is Ruined, And Now I Am Grumpy

Thats It My Day Is Ruined And Now I Am Grumpy

If you’ve been following our journey lately, you know that things in the Philippines rarely go according to plan. What was supposed to be a quick weekend trip to Cebu City to handle my visa extension and some land taxes has turned into a week-long ordeal. I managed to get my visa sorted and headed home on Friday because I had a mountain of work waiting for me, but poor Jessa is still stuck in the city.

It turns out we were missing one tiny, crucial detail—a single signature on a single piece of paper. In this country, that’s enough to bring the whole process to a grinding halt. So, while I’m back at home trying to run my businesses, Jessa is still there, navigating the bureaucracy. Hopefully, she’ll be back today or tomorrow, but as I always say, you just have to power through it. That’s just the "fun" of living here!

However, the real disaster—the thing that actually ruined my day—happened this morning. I woke up, stumbled into the kitchen to get my morning coffee, and realized we were completely out of my regular brew. The only thing left was some "Great Taste White Coffee Mix" that Jessa had tucked away. Now, I’m almost crying just thinking about it again, but I was desperate, so I poured a cup.

My God, how do people drink this? It’s not coffee; it’s a sugar bomb with a tiny hint of coffee flavoring. It’s absolutely horrible. It’s now 12:30 PM, and even though I drank that "stuff," I still consider myself not having had my morning coffee. I haven’t been able to start any work because I’m just not "awake" yet. Instead of being productive, I’ve spent the whole morning being lazy and watching one of my favorite YouTube channels, Sorted Food. They have over 2.8 million subscribers, and their content is amazing, but even they couldn't fully cure my grumpiness.

Being the data-driven guy I am, I decided to look at the nutrition label on that coffee sachet, and what I found was shocking. One little sachet has 120 calories, and 40 of those come from fat! Think about that—fat in a cup of coffee! If you drink two of those a day, that’s 240 calories. Over a month, that’s over 7,000 calories just from your "coffee." If you’re trying to watch your weight, staying away from these 3-in-1 mixes is the easiest win you can have. Just switch to regular black coffee with some calorie-free sweetener and a splash of low-fat milk if you need it. You’ll save a ton of calories.

So, here I am: no Jessa, no coffee, and a very bad mood. I’m going to stop recording this now and drive to the store to get some real coffee. Maybe then I’ll have enough energy to actually edit this video and get some work done.

See you in the next one!
