It has been quite some time since I’ve been able to upload regularly. Between Christmas, New Year’s, and some intensive IT projects, I’ve been buried in work. But I have some great news: I’m just a few days away from finishing those projects, and that means I’m finally back to making videos for you all!
Today marks the official start of a massive adventure—a road trip that I expect will last for three months or even longer. We aren't just staying in Cebu; the plan is to visit a lot of different islands across the Philippines. We’re starting here in Cebu City, then we’ll head back to Moalboal for a few days to regroup before crossing over to Dumaguete, Oslob, and eventually doing some serious island hopping. It’s a bit of a "workation" for now, as I’ll still be putting in a few hours each morning before Jessa and Liam wake up, but by the time we get back to Moalboal, I’ll be completely finished and ready for full-on travel mode.
Leaving home is always a bit of a process. We didn’t pack too heavily this time because we’re planning to return to Moalboal shortly before heading out for the really long stretch. The car was mostly ready, though it definitely needs a good cleaning—something I’ll have to fix in the next day or two. After a month and a half of mostly staring at a computer screen, I can’t tell you how ready I am for a change of scenery.
The drive to Cebu City didn't go quite as smoothly as planned. We hit some incredibly heavy traffic that slowed us down for over an hour. It turns out there was an accident involving an overheating engine that was blocking the way. In the Philippines, you just have to be patient with these things. By the time we finally got past it, it was already getting late, but at least we were finally on our way to the hotel.
We’ve arrived and checked into the Yellow Hotel in Cebu City. We’ve stayed here before, and it’s a solid choice for us. It has a decent breakfast buffet, which is always a win, and a great rooftop deck. The room itself is fine, though the desk chair isn't the best for my back—I can only sit there for about 40 minutes before I need to move. That’s why you’ll usually find me working up on the rooftop instead.
Liam is already full of energy and getting a bit impatient, which is a good sign that he’s ready for the trip. Jessa is her usual self on camera, but I know she’s just as excited as I am to get this journey started. Tomorrow, if the weather holds up, the real filming begins. We’re going to show you some beautiful spots around Cebu before we head further north for more island hopping.
It feels amazing to be back behind the camera and sharing our lives with you again. This is just the very beginning of a long and exciting chapter for VibePinas.
