Good morning! It’s currently the end of October, and things are getting incredibly busy for The Dahl Family. We’re in the middle of a major transition as we prepare for a trip to Manila followed by a massive road trip around the Philippines in January. Between work, family obligations, and the logistics of travel, my head is spinning, but I’m excited for what’s ahead.
Lately, I’ve been feeling the weight of the "influencer" life. It’s a bit of a double-edged sword; on one hand, I love the community we’ve built, but on the other, the constant messages and requests for help can be overwhelming. I’ve reached a point where I’ve had to set some boundaries for my own mental health. I’m focusing more on my work and my family and less on trying to solve everyone else's problems.
Today is all about the "pre-game" for our Manila trip. We’re heading to the city for a marathon of errands. First up: car maintenance. Since we’re about to do a lot of driving, I needed to get the car checked out and the registration sorted. It’s one of those "boring but necessary" tasks that you just have to power through.
We also made a stop at the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). I’m in the process of finalizing my business registration, which is a key step in our plan to get my 13A visa back on track. It’s a lot of paperwork and "Philippine time," but it’s essential for our long-term future here. I also had to drop off some documents for the Norwegian Embassy. We’re working on getting Liam’s Norwegian citizenship and passport finalized, which is a huge deal for us.
The drive back home was long, and we didn't get in until late. Jessa and Liam were exhausted, and I’ve still got a few hours of editing and website management ahead of me before I can call it a day. It’s a lot of work, but seeing everything start to fall into place is incredibly satisfying. We’re almost debt-free, our paperwork is moving forward, and we have a year of adventure ahead of us.
