Good afternoon and welcome back to VibePinas! Today, we’re making a bit of a transition. As much as we love the rugged beauty and the constant projects up on our mountain in Ginatilan, the reality of my ongoing health recovery and the logistical needs of our family have brought us back to the city for a while. We’ve decided to settle into a unit at One Oasis in Mabolo, Cebu City, and honestly, it feels like exactly what we need right now.
Living in One Oasis is a different world compared to the mountain. Here, everything is about convenience and a bit of well-deserved relaxation. We have a comfortable space where Jessa can manage the household more easily, and Liam—our little "water baby"—has access to the amenities he loves. While we were a bit disappointed previously about the strict pool rules for babies, just being in this peaceful, secure environment is a massive relief for both mind and body.
The main reason for staying here is to be closer to the medical facilities in Cebu City. We are still in that "waiting room" phase of life, holding out for hospital results and scheduling the next steps for my surgery. It’s a stressful time, and the uncertainty can weigh heavily on you. By staying at One Oasis, we’re reducing the travel stress and giving ourselves a stable "base camp" while we navigate these health challenges.
Jessa, as always, is the rock of our family. She’s been incredibly supportive, making sure we’re both fed and happy while she also looks after Liam’s endless energy. We’ve been spending our days doing the "simple" things—playing with Liam, catching up on work for the channel, and just enjoying each other's company without the immediate pressure of house construction or typhoon repairs. It’s a "staycation" with a purpose.
Liam is thriving here. He’s becoming so much more observant, and his personality is really starting to shine through. Whether he's babbling to us in the morning or just exploring every corner of the new unit, he keeps our spirits high. We're also using this time to get organized with his paperwork; getting his future secured is just as important as getting my health back on track.
We aren't forgetting about our mountain home, of course. It’s always in our hearts, and we’re already planning our next steps for when we can finally head back up. But for now, the priority is health, family, and finding peace in the middle of the city.
