Good afternoon and welcome back to VibePinas! Today is a significant day for us as we navigate the journey from the busy streets of Cebu City back to our home in Ginatilan. The main reason for this trip is a vital one for our family’s health and safety: we are heading back to complete our second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination.
The journey itself is quite the trek, taking us through the beautiful and varied landscapes of Cebu. Traveling during this time has its challenges, with various health protocols and checkpoints to navigate, but it’s a necessary trip to ensure we are fully protected. As we make our way south, the transition from the urban bustle to the more relaxed pace of the province is always a welcome change. There’s a certain peace that comes with leaving the city behind and moving toward the mountains and the sea.
Once we arrived in Ginatilan, we headed straight to the vaccination site. It’s heartening to see the local community coming together and following the health guidelines. The process was efficient, and we were able to get our second shots without much delay. Getting vaccinated is about more than just our own health; it’s about protecting Liam, our neighbors, and the wider community we love so much here in Ginatilan.
In addition to the vaccination, this trip was also about catching up on some health checks. I’ve been undergoing some laboratory tests recently to keep an eye on my recovery and general well-being. It’s been a bit of a stressful time waiting for results and managing health concerns alongside our ongoing building projects, but staying on top of these things is crucial. Having a young son like Liam really puts things into perspective—you want to be in the best possible shape to be there for your family.
While in Ginatilan, we also took the opportunity to catch up with some friends and family, including Dayan. These connections are the backbone of our life here and provide much-needed support and joy, especially during the more challenging periods. We spent some time just soaking in the local atmosphere and preparing for our return to the mountain.
The day ended with a feeling of accomplishment and a bit of relief. Being fully vaccinated feels like a major milestone reached in this long period of uncertainty. We’re heading back to our mountain cabin now, ready to continue with our construction work and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
If you want to see the "unfiltered" journey through Cebu or the process of our vaccination day in Ginatilan, come join us.
Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one!
