Good afternoon and welcome back to VibePinas! We are still hanging out in the city, and let me tell you, the weather has been absolutely relentless. Today started with a massive downpour, but in the Philippines, you learn quickly that you can't let a little water stop your plans. Instead of hiding inside, we decided to embrace it. I took Liam out for a "rainy swim"—it was one of those perfect moments where the air is warm, but the rain is cool. Liam is such a little adventurer; he doesn't care about the weather as long as he's in the water.
After our swim and getting some work done on our latest video uploads, we had a more serious mission. We headed over to the hospital to check for my surgery papers. As many of you know, the "future" has been a bit of a struggle lately with my health recovery. We’ve been waiting on the doctors to schedule my surgery, and it’s been a waiting game that’s getting a bit difficult. Unfortunately, when we got there and checked the boards, our names weren't on the list yet. It’s frustrating, but we’re going to call again tomorrow and hopefully get things moving so we can finally get back to our life on the mountain.
To lift our spirits after the hospital disappointment, I decided to take Jessa to one of her "happy places": the arcade at SM City Mall. I know for a fact that Jessa loves those crane machines and prize games, but I also know she has a very short fuse when she doesn't win! We bought 100 pesos' worth of tokens and set her loose.
It started exactly how I expected. Jessa was going from machine to machine, getting more and more "stressed" as the prizes stayed just out of reach. She was trying for a blue car for Liam and some other toys, but those claws are notoriously tricky. I was teasing her, telling her she was "very bad" at it, which of course only made her more determined. But then, a miracle happened! For the first time ever, she actually won something—a little stuffed toy for Liam. She went from being super frustrated to incredibly excited in about two seconds. She even managed to snag a second prize right after! Seeing her face light up and hearing her say, "At least I have something for my baby," made the whole trip worth it.
After the arcade excitement, we were both "very hungry," so we headed to one of our favorite evening spots in SM: Cabalen. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet that serves great Filipino-style food for a really fair price—about 720 pesos for the two of us. We filled up on chicken, salad, and some local favorites like palapa. I even braved the dessert section for some marshmallows and chocolate fondue.
While we were eating, I was thinking about the big day ahead tomorrow. I’ve got tons of work to do, including getting my own webshop back on track. I had to put everything on hold during the recent health scare, so getting back into the "grind" feels good, even if I'm a bit tired.
We’re wrapping up the night now, and Jessa has already started plotting her next video for her own channel—which apparently involves me wearing makeup! I foolishly promised her she could do whatever she wanted for her channel, so I'm a bit scared about what's coming next.
If you want to see the "unfiltered" footage of Jessa’s arcade victory or watch Liam’s reaction to the rainy swim, come join us.
Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one!
