In this video, I’m sharing why I finally settled on the Honda Click 160 as the ultimate family workhorse for VibePinas. Living in the mountains of Cebu, I needed a bike that could handle steep climbs while remaining incredibly practical for daily life.
When I was shopping around, I took a hard look at the Honda ADV and the Yamaha NMAX. They are great bikes, but they both have one major flaw for my needs: they lack a flatboard. That center "tunnel" design might look sporty, but it completely kills the utility of the bike. For me, that flat floor is non-negotiable. It’s where I stack bags of groceries, construction supplies, or where Liam stands safely right in front of me. Without that flat space, the bike just wouldn't work for our lifestyle.
However, I have to be honest—the Click 160 isn't perfect straight from the factory. To make it the bike I actually wanted to ride, a few upgrades were absolutely instrumental. The stock seat is notoriously hard, and the rear suspension is way too stiff for our mountain roads. I spent about 11,000 pesos to install a custom-padded seat and Racing Boy suspension. These changes were a total game-changer; they turned a bumpy, uncomfortable ride into a smooth, capable machine that Jessa and Liam actually enjoy.
The real finishing touch, though, was adding a 55-liter top box. I’m telling you, having a box this size is the perfect solution for any scooter. It completely changes the experience of being "on the go." Whether we’re heading to the beach or just running errands, we can throw our helmets, jackets, and bags inside and keep them secure and dry. It makes life so much easier because you aren't constantly struggling to balance things or worrying about your gear when you walk away from the bike.
With the power of the 160cc engine, the convenience of the flatboard, the comfort of the new suspension, and the massive storage of that 55-liter box, this bike has become the perfect tool for our life in Cebu.
