Good morning! We are finally on our way home after being away for over a month. It feels like an eternity, and while traveling has its perks, there’s nothing quite like getting back to your own base. However, "home" is about to look a little different for us. The place we’ve been staying is just too small for our needs now, especially with Liam growing up so fast.
Our plan is to find a new house to rent in Moalboal. This will be our temporary home while we tackle the much bigger project of building our own house. The sequence is pretty straightforward in my head: find a suitable rental, then start the serious hunt for land. Jessa already has a few spots lined up for us to check out, and I’m hoping we can secure the land before the end of the year. If everything goes according to plan, we’ll start building in January after we return from our trip to Norway. I’m really excited about the idea of a model house built from containers—it’s going to be a great project.
Before we could get into the house hunting, we had a more pressing stop at SM. Jessa needed to head to the hospital to get some test results and follow up on some health concerns. She’s been having a tough time lately, and we’re both hoping for some clarity. I offered to go in with her, but she insisted I stay with Liam. So, instead of a babysitter, I’m on "Liam duty" at the mall.
We grabbed a quick snack lunch of pizza and fries, and then I took the little man to the playground. He had an absolute blast in the ball pit and on the slides. It’s the perfect way to burn off some of that toddler energy. By the time he was done playing, he was completely "knocked out" and ready for a nap. That gave me a rare moment of peace to enjoy some carrot cake and coffee while catching up on the news from back home in Norway.
Jessa finally finished up at the hospital and met us back at the car. She’s got some medicine to try out, and the doctor gave her some clear instructions. It’s a starting point, at least. We’re both hopeful that this will help, but if not, it’s back to the drawing board. Healthcare can be a long journey sometimes, but we’re committed to finding answers.
We made it back to Moalboal, but the situation at our current place has reached a breaking point. It’s not just the size; there’s a neighbor who keeps letting stray dogs into the gated compound. Now, Liam isn't exactly a dog expert—he’s the type of kid who might try to pull a tail—and I’m not willing to risk him getting bitten by a stray. That was the final straw for me. We’re moving, and we’re moving now.
We already looked at one apartment, but the internet wasn't up to my standards. As someone who works online, that’s a non-negotiable. We have a few more houses to see today, and I’m confident we’ll find something that fits.
On that bombshell, thanks for following our journey. See you in the next one!
