Good afternoon and welcome back to the channel! I have to apologize for being a bit quiet lately. I’ve been pretty sick for the past two and a half weeks, and honestly, it’s been a struggle just to get through the days. I’m finally feeling a little bit better today—this is actually my third day out of the house—so we decided it was high time for a family day at the beach.
Today, Jessa and I decided to explore a place we’ve heard about but never visited: Lambug Beach. The journey there was a bit of an adventure itself. We hit some roadwork and had to take a detour that turned a 3.5-kilometer trip into a 7-kilometer trek through some pretty "interesting" backroads. My GPS even tried to send us down a path that was impossible for the car—even with a 4x4, there are limits!
Once we finally arrived and paid the fees—45 pesos per person and 100 pesos for parking—I was immediately impressed. The beach is absolutely beautiful and, more importantly, it’s clean. Finding a clean beach in the Philippines can sometimes be a challenge, so this was a breath of fresh air. It’s a quiet weekday, so thankfully, there’s no "boom boom" karaoke to ruin the peace.
We had a great time just relaxing and letting Liam explore. He was a bit grumpy when he first woke up, but the sand and waves quickly won him over. One of the highlights of the day was being recognized by some fans! A lovely girl came up to us and said she enjoys our videos, which is always such a heartwarming experience. It’s still a bit surreal to meet people who follow our journey personally, but it’s one of the best parts of what we do.
I did have one major shock, though: the price of the "paraws" (huts). They wanted 1,500 pesos to rent one! In a tourist area like White Beach, you’d pay maybe 300 to 600 pesos. 1,500 pesos is about four days' salary for a local worker—it’s absolutely bananas. Needless to say, we didn’t rent one. Next time, we’ll just bring our own mat and sit under the trees. I always say, don't support those kinds of prices if they don't make sense!
Despite the crazy hut prices, Lambug is a gem. We’re definitely coming back on a clearer day to do some snorkeling and a proper review of the place. After our beach time, we headed back to Moalboal for a nice dinner at Panagsama, which is one of my favorite spots. Liam got his fix of fries, and I treated myself to some sweet and sour pork.
