Welcome back! Today is all about love and appreciation. As much as I enjoy our rugged life building a home in the Ginatilan mountains, sometimes you just need to step away from the cement mixers and the mountain roads to celebrate the person who makes it all worth it. For Valentine's Day, I wanted to do something special for Jessa, so we headed down to a beautiful resort in Oslob for a day of relaxation and simple luxury.
Seeing Jessa’s reaction to a little bit of pampering is one of my favorite things. She is such a hardworking and grounded person—whether she’s "going bananas" with a harvest or managing the chaos of our construction site—that seeing her just let go and enjoy a nice meal or a dip in the pool is incredibly rewarding. I’ve always said that she deserves a break, and Valentine's Day was the perfect excuse to make her feel like a queen.
In this video, I wanted to share the "softer" side of our life in Cebu. We spent the day at a resort that truly captures the tropical beauty of Oslob. From the moment we arrived, the vibe was perfect. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch together, just talking and laughing without the usual distractions of the project or the vlog. It’s these moments of connection that keep our partnership strong. Watching Jessa enjoy the simple things—the good food, the view of the ocean, and the sun—is a reminder of why I love her spirit so much. She is so appreciative of everything, and it makes me want to surprise her more often!
One of the highlights was definitely the swimming. Jessa is like a mermaid whenever she gets near the water, and Oslob’s coastal views provide the most stunning backdrop. We even managed to find some time for a little bit of fun and "jolly" energy, which Jessa has in spades. It wasn't about a fancy, expensive gift; it was about the experience and the time spent together as a family. We had Liam with us, too, and seeing him enjoy the resort vibe was the icing on the cake. He’s becoming quite the little traveler!
I also loved seeing the reaction from all of you in the community. It seems like a lot of you were touched by our little celebration. I saw comments from people all over—from Bulacan to Bohol, and even someone from Norway whose father is originally from Ginatilan! It’s amazing how a simple video about love can connect people from so many different backgrounds. Many of you mentioned how lucky I am to have Jessa, and believe me, I know! But it was also heartening to hear that you think she’s lucky to have me too. We’re a team, and we’re building this life together, step by step.
This video is a reminder that even in the middle of a busy, sometimes stressful life, you have to prioritize the people you love. Whether it's a grand gesture or just a quiet lunch by the sea, those moments are what you’ll remember years from now. We’re heading back to the mountains now, feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the next phase of our home project, but we’re carrying that Valentine’s spirit with us.
Thanks for joining us for this special day in Oslob. I hope it inspired you to do something sweet for someone you care about. Stay real, stay loving, and I’ll see you in the next one!
